Countryside Code

I just saw the Countryfile programme this week. During which they mentioned that many exmoor ponies had been killed on the road due to the public leaving gates open.
Looking further afield this is more common than I realised across the UK:

  • May 2021 - 11 horses escaped one had to be rescued from downing in a nearby river.
  • Aug 2020 - Cow put down after gate left open
  • Jun 2020 - 11 cows killed
  • Aug 2017 - 2 Cows killed in separate road accidents

THERE ARE MANY MORE INCIDENTS
